BOOK DESCRIPTION
OLD TESTAMENT BIBLE HISTORY: The Book of Genesis and the Birth of God’s People unites the classic insight of Alfred Edersheim with the contemporary biblical scholarship of Edward D. Andrews to illuminate the foundational chapters of Scripture with clarity, conviction, and faithfulness.
This volume traces God’s redemptive purpose from Creation through the lives of the Patriarchs—revealing how the divine covenant unfolds amid human history. Edersheim’s timeless exposition is freshly expanded and enriched by Andrews’ extensive new material, including in-depth Excursions and Bible Difficulties sections that address linguistic, historical, and theological questions often raised by modern readers.
The result is a work that bridges past and present—a seamless blend of devotional insight and academic rigor. Readers will encounter not only the narrative of Genesis but also the unchanging truth that God’s hand has guided humanity from the beginning, preparing the way for the fulfillment of His promises.
Whether read for study, teaching, or spiritual reflection, this volume offers a profound exploration of faith’s earliest foundations—and a renewed confidence in the trustworthiness of God’s Word.
