BOOK DESCRIPTION
Dwight L. Moody was a faithful Christian evangelist, teacher, and writer in the nineteenth century. A dedicated student of Scripture and a powerful communicator, he urged men and women to come to God through Christ, understand the simplicity of salvation, and walk in the truth of the gospel.
His book The Way to God and How to Find It has helped many understand the love of God, the need for repentance, and the clear path of salvation through Jesus Christ. This twenty-first-century update brings the central purpose of his classic work to modern readers, preserving his strong confidence in Scripture and his practical approach while adapting the material for today’s world.
THIS IS NOT A REPRINT of Dwight L. Moody’s original work.
More than a century has passed since Moody first presented his instruction on the way of salvation. While the central principles he taught remain valuable and true, many of the illustrations, cultural references, expressions, and methods of presentation belong to another era and are not always immediately clear to modern readers.
This edition is a twenty-first-century update of Moody’s teaching. I have kept his central message, practical emphasis, and commitment to the authority of Scripture intact while completely rewriting the language, structure, and presentation for today’s world. The heart of the book—helping people understand God’s love and find the way of salvation through Christ—is just as necessary now as it was in Moody’s day.
Wherever possible, I have maintained Moody’s direct, encouraging, and practical spirit. However, the chapter titles and content have been rewritten to explain how people living in the twenty-first century can understand the way of salvation, respond to the gospel, and walk in the truth of God’s Word.
My prayer is that this twenty-first-century update will help a new generation understand the love of God, turn to Christ in genuine repentance, and find the way of salvation clearly set forth in Scripture.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Dwight L. Moody (1837–1899) was one of the most influential Christian evangelists of the nineteenth century. Known for his plainspoken preaching, practical faith, and deep confidence in the Bible, he reached vast audiences in the United States and Britain. Moody founded institutions devoted to Christian education, evangelism, and service, including what became Moody Bible Institute. Though he had little formal schooling, his passion for Scripture and ability to communicate its message clearly made him a lasting influence on evangelical Christianity. His writings continue to encourage believers to study God’s Word and live it faithfully.
